How to add a single malt to your collection

Keep track of which single malts you own, and even whether the individual bottles are unopened or half-empty. Single malts in your collection are listed conveniently in abbreviated form on the Home page; your collection is detailed in its entirety on the new Collection page.

collection-1t.jpgTap Single Malts.

You'll generally start from Home, which lists in abbreviated form the single malts in your collection. In the example shown here, our collection is empty because we haven't added any single malts yet.

Let's add one now.

collection-2t.jpgChoose the single malt.

The Single Malts list displays single malts by their general names like Bunnahabhain and Laphroaig rather than by their more specific bottling names like Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old and Laphroaig 25 Year Old Cask Strength.

We'll choose Bunnahabhain for this example.

collection-3t.jpgChoose the bottling.

You might have to scroll down a bit to find the one you're looking for. Glenfarclas, for instance, has 102 bottlings. Most bottlings names follow the pattern WhiskyName+Age+Year+Expression.

We'll choose Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old for this example.

collection-4t.jpgMake sure you've found the right bottling.

The additional details about the bottling you've chosen may help to confirm that it matches the bottle in your collection. Sometimes, for instance, bottlings can differ by something as subtle as ABV (alcohol by volume) or cask finishing, so take a minute to be sure.

collection-5t.jpgTap Share.

You'll see options to add the bottle to your collection, or to your wish list (which we'll discuss separately). Note that you might sometimes wish to add a bottling to both collection and wish list. Say you've nearly finished your bottle of a hard-to-find single malt and want to obtain another, for instance.

We'll choose Add to Collection here.

collection-6t.jpgDescribe your bottle.

volume.jpg You can specify which size bottle you own as well as when and where you acquired the bottle and how much you paid. You can also supply your own freeform notes about the bottle. You can also specify how full the bottle is, or how many unopened bottles you own.

Now tap Done to add the single malt to your collection.

collection-7t.jpgYou're done.

The additional details will now confirm that the single malt is in your collection, and will how you how much you have left in the bottle. In the example here, we can see that our bottle of Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old is less than half-full.

collection-8t.jpgTap Collection.

The Home page now lists your new entry along with others in your collection. Up to 20 bottles are shown here, with any additional bottles appended to the list as and 17 more....

collection-9t.jpgView your entire collection.

You can view and modify all entries in your entire collection on the Collection page. Tap an entry to see and modify details about that single malt in your collection.
